Privacy policy
Last updated: March 2026. This policy explains what data DigiTrac collects, why, and how we handle it.
Who we are
DigiTrac (digittrac.com) is an independent editorial website covering casino and gaming events in Australia. We are not a gambling operator, ticket seller or affiliated service. For more about our project, see our About page.
What data we collect
Server logs
DigiTrac is a static informational website served via standard web hosting. Our web server automatically records standard access logs when you visit any page. These logs may include:
- Your IP address
- Date and time of access
- Pages requested (URL path)
- HTTP status code
- Referrer URL (the page you came from, if any)
- User agent string (browser type and operating system)
Server logs are retained for operational and security purposes (identifying errors, monitoring uptime, detecting abuse). They are not used for marketing, profiling or sold to third parties. Logs are stored on our hosting server and are periodically rotated and deleted.
No user accounts or login
DigiTrac does not offer user accounts, registration, login areas, newsletters or mailing lists. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or payment information through the website. If you email us at [email protected], we retain that correspondence only for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.
No first-party tracking or analytics
As of the date of this policy, DigiTrac does not use first-party analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts or any behavioural tracking technology. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect the change, and we will use privacy-respecting tools with minimal data collection.
Third-party services
Google Fonts
This website loads web fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address and standard request headers. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not control Google's data practices. If you prefer not to load Google Fonts, you can block these domains using a browser extension or content blocker.
Cloudflare
Our website may be served through Cloudflare's content delivery network for performance and security. Cloudflare processes request data (IP address, headers) as part of its standard CDN and security operations. Cloudflare's data handling is described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
No other third-party services
DigiTrac does not use social media tracking widgets, embedded advertising networks, third-party comment systems, chat tools or any other external services beyond those listed above. We do not embed iframes from gambling operators or any other commercial platform.
Cookies
DigiTrac does not set first-party cookies. Third-party services (such as Google Fonts or Cloudflare) may set cookies in accordance with their own policies. For details on managing cookies, see our Cookie policy.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Server log data may be shared with our hosting provider for the purpose of infrastructure maintenance and security incident investigation.
Data retention
Server logs are retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) and then automatically deleted or rotated. Email correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address the enquiry and then deleted.
Australian Privacy Principles
DigiTrac respects the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). While DigiTrac, as a small editorial project, may not meet the threshold for coverage under the Privacy Act, we voluntarily apply the principles of data minimisation, purpose limitation, transparency and security that the APPs require.
If you believe we have handled your personal information inappropriately, you can contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Children's privacy
DigiTrac is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information relating to a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
