About DigiTrac

An independent editorial project mapping casino and gaming events across Australia. We publish timetables and support links — not promotions.

Who we are

DigiTrac is a small, independent editorial project focused on one thing: making Australian casino and gaming event information accessible, accurate and presented alongside harm-reduction resources.

We are not a media company, a tech startup or a venture-backed platform. We are a small team of writers and researchers who noticed that event information for Australia's casino and gaming scene was either buried inside operator marketing (where the agenda is to drive foot traffic) or scattered across industry publications that the general public never reads.

We set out to build a straightforward calendar — a place where you can find out what is happening, when, where and what you need to know before attending — without being sold a betting account or a VIP membership in the process.

Editorial independence

DigiTrac is not owned, funded, endorsed or operated by any casino, gaming venue, gambling operator, industry lobby group or wagering platform. We have no financial relationship with the venues or events we list.

This independence shapes every editorial decision:

  • We do not accept advertising from gambling operators.
  • We do not publish affiliate links to wagering or gaming platforms.
  • We do not receive complimentary tickets, hospitality or media access in exchange for favourable coverage.
  • We do not run sponsored content or advertorial disguised as editorial.

Our event listings are based on publicly available information. We are free to include, exclude or critically annotate any event without commercial pressure.

Independence means we can put the Gambling Help Online number next to a poker series listing without worrying about an advertiser pulling their spend.

How we source events

Event information on DigiTrac comes from a combination of:

  • Venue announcements — media releases, event calendars and public communications from Australian licensed casino-resort properties (Crown, The Star, SkyCity and others).
  • Industry association calendars — the Gaming Technologies Association, Clubs Australia, state-level regulators and similar bodies publish event schedules that we monitor.
  • Organiser communications — for events like poker series, charity galas and entertainment programming, we review organiser announcements and, where possible, verify details with the event source.
  • Reader submissions — anyone can suggest an event via our contact page. Submissions are reviewed editorially before listing.

Despite our efforts, event details change. Dates shift, venues change plans, and organisers adjust formats. We update listings when we become aware of changes, but we strongly recommend confirming details with the event source before making travel or accommodation plans.

Our accuracy commitment: Every listing is reviewed before publication and updated when corrections reach us. If you spot an error, please let us know — corrections are prioritised over new listings.

What DigiTrac does not do

Clarity about what we are not is as important as clarity about what we are:

  • We are not a ticket seller. We do not sell, resell or broker tickets or registrations for any event. For tickets, contact the venue or organiser directly.
  • We are not a gambling operator. We do not operate any gambling product — no casino, no sportsbook, no lottery, no poker room. We have no gaming licence because we offer no gaming.
  • We are not a gambling service. We do not facilitate deposits, wagers, account creation or any transactional gambling activity. There is no sign-up, no wallet, no bet-placing functionality on this site.
  • We are not an affiliate. We do not earn commissions from directing users to gambling operators. There are no affiliate links, tracking IDs or referral codes anywhere on this site.
  • We are not a review or rating site. We do not rank casinos, rate operators or compare gambling products. Our editorial lens is event logistics, not operator quality.
  • We are not a crisis service. We publish links to professional support services, but we are not trained counsellors. For crisis support, contact Gambling Help Online or call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

The team

DigiTrac is run by a small editorial team based in Australia. We do not have a newsroom, a sales department or a content partnership team. The people who research events are the same people who write the listings and maintain the site.

We chose this scale deliberately. A small team with no advertising clients can make editorial decisions faster and with fewer conflicts of interest than a publication dependent on gaming-industry revenue.

If you want to reach us — with a correction, a question, an event submission or feedback — the contact page goes directly to the editorial team. There is no PR layer and no ticket queue.

Why harm reduction matters here

Casino events happen inside environments designed to encourage spending. Poker series take place on gaming floors. Trade expos showcase products that maximise player engagement. Entertainment nights keep people inside precincts where gaming is always accessible.

We believe an event guide that ignores this context is incomplete. That is why every page on DigiTrac includes links to Gambling Help Online, BetStop and crisis services. It is also why we maintain a comprehensive responsible entertainment page with practical tools, warning signs and self-exclusion information.

Normalising support visibility is a core editorial principle, not an afterthought.
